"Having previously spent time in the gym I felt I wasn’t really getting the results I wanted, my weight stayed the same and I didn’t feel I had anymore energy then usual. I felt like giving up and lacked motivation, I needed encouragement to carry on.

When I started my training sessions with Stuart everything changed, we sat down and talked though what I wanted to achieve from training, my goal is to lose 1 ½ -2 stones in weight and to tone up.

After spending time with Stuart going through my old diet and changing it to a healthy new one and going through the exercises, that I would be doing and how many times a week. I went away feeling a lot more enthusiastic about training and felt that I would be getting the encouragement and support that I needed.

My diet is a high protein diet, which mean no-more choc, crisps and coke. I found the diet hard at first as I work a lot and have a few hours each day to myself but I managed. I have stuck to the diet well (I think) I’ve cut out all junk food which I do miss a lot but so far its been worth it.

The first week of training was hard 6 times a week in the gym and constantly thinking about what I was allowed to eat, I craved sugary foods for a boost of energy. By the time I got home at night I was asleep within minutes. Finally Sunday came and it was weigh day. I lost 5 lbs that week which was fantastic, I then knew it was paying off so I knew I would stick at it.

By the 2nd week my energy levels were better I felt full of life. The eating got easier but training harder. I train mon-fri, sat off then get weighed on Sunday then train again. I do resistance one day then cardio next and so on.

I wont lie the training is hard there are days when I cant be bothered my muscles ache and I don’t want to do anymore. There has been many times I have moaned and swore at Stuart for the exercises he has made me do and even times I’ve wanted to throw things at him, but through all my moaning and whining which I know there will be more, Stuart has always been there by my side encouraging me to go on and motivating me. I found that having him there was great support for me and it lifted my spirits as he is always telling me how well I’m doing which spurs me on, and makes me want to try harder.

I’ve now been training with Stuart for 2 ½ weeks and plan to carry on training with him, I’ve now lost 8 lbs in two weeks an am due to get weighed again soon. I would not have been able to do it on my own; I know I would have gave up.

I would recommend Stuart to anyone who want to lose weight or just tone up as I think he is very easy to talk to and get on with. He’s a good listener and is amazing at his job. So I would like to thank you so much for what you’ve done and for all your time so far.

"I collapsed into my seat on the plane bound for Stansted having just run the length of Pisa airport. I could hardly breathe, let alone speak.
I tried to smile as other passengers looked across nervously & turned away in fear that I might be having a heart attack. The stewardess kindly offered me a drink , but all I really wanted was an oxygen mask ! The days of playing rugby and running cross country seemed a distant memory and the years of sitting behind a desk had caught up with me BIG TIME !

Upon arriving home I relayed my experience to a good friend who suggest I give Stuart a call. I wasn’t sure at first, other people went to fitness classes , not me. I was still as fit as I was 20 years ago , wasn’t I ? After a bit of persuasion, I picked up the phone and made the call.

"About 10 years ago I suffered a spinal fracture and since then I have used personal trainers to help me strengthen my core stability to maintain mobility in my spine. I used to love running but often find my back limits my ability to do this as most types of CV work exacerbate the pain. Stu has worked with me for the past 9 months or so using the kettle bells and the TRX® suspension trainer. His sessions are always fun, varied and hard work (although it never feels like it at the time) and much more interesting than what I have done with previous trainers. "Goals - I asked Stuart to target me with a weight loss program on Jan 4th 2009. He set me monthly targets with a regime to loose around 40pounds of body fat and to create leaner muscle tissue.

Program - He set me up with an extreme fat loss program which entailed diet and exercise which was to be performed 3 times a week. Stuart attended my session one to one every Monday and set me monthly regimes. He managed my whole program for 4 months giving me 4 different monthly programs to perform.

These programs were testing and had to be stuck to which taught me self discipline. I learnt about calorie control and how to manage my
daily intake of carbs and protein to best maximise my results.

He took measurements weekly to plot my progress with weight and calliper readings as sometimes the shape changed but the weight was a little slower to drop off which was good. The slower I lost the weight the more chance I had of keeping it off.

The program consisted of weight training and interval training making my metabolic rate work harder even on my non training days so that I carried on losing weight for 24 hours after doing the exercise.

Results - The transformation was fantastic I lost 42 pounds in 4 months and my body shape took on an all too unfamiliar shape. I found Stuart through other members at the gym’s recommendations. He was very professional throughout the time we spent together and I
Would have no hesitation in recommended his services to anyone looking for effective results who are determined to work hard and stick
to his plans. I have started training with Stuart again to further develop my fitness and to remove the little bit of weight I put back on after Xmas.

Program - We have chosen a mix of training techniques to add some variety to my workouts to help keep it fresh each week. On Mondays we train together with kettle bells and TRX suspension training ( strap used by American army personnel in Iraq to keep fit ) This is extremely hard work but the benefits already achieved in 3 weeks are phenomenal.

On Wednesday nights I also attend Stuarts boxing training class which is attended by up to 20 students which is a good all round regime of
pad work and endurance training. Technique is crucial in the class as it involves strong pad work and padded body shots that if performed
incorrectly would cause injury so Stuarts professional approach keeps it safe for all levels of student.

I will continue to use Stuarts services over time to make sure I don’t slip back into poor training ways and I thoroughly recommend his

I was introduced to Kettlebell training just under a year ago. Whilst already being an enthusiastic member of a gym, I was keen to try something new and also to encourage my husband to share my passion for fitness.

I can honestly say that Kettlebell training is the most beneficial form of strength training, cardio conditioning and fat loss that I have ever found. My husband is not only delighted to have dropped a trouser size and found an increase in muscle definition but is also no longer plagued with aching joints.

I started training with Stu back in August 2010; I felt I wasn’t challenging myself enough with my training and whilst my overall fitness was slowly improving, I wasn’t really getting the results I wanted. I’ve previously completed a number of challenge events including 36hr Three Peaks, Peru Inca Trail and was at that time training for the English 3000s in September (eight mountains in the Lakes – walking for roughly 20hrs over 2days). I approached Stu for personal training sessions with a specific goal in mind – I was trekking Mount Kilimanjaro in February 2011.

I started twice weekly sessions with Stu using kettlebells and TRX suspension training – it wasn’t easy especially the first few weeks when all my muscles would be groaning the next day (even sneezing hurt!) but I could quickly see results. The exercises with both would be varied to work the different muscle groups (lots of squats and lunges though!) and Stu also incorporated weight and interval training, again really hard but the results were clearly visible.

Stu is a fantastic trainer; I’ve moaned and sworn at him a lot throughout our sessions but he was always encouraging and supportive and made me push myself that bit harder. He is very professional whilst being friendly, a very good listener and always happy to give that extra bit of advice or help outside of training sessions.

I trekked up Kili as planned in February and it was an incredible and hard challenge but from my training with Stu, I felt sufficiently prepared and had no doubts that I would make it to the top – which I did reaching the Uhuru Peak 5895m.

I can’t recommend Stu enough for personal training sessions; whatever goal you have in mind, he will help you achieve it. I am still training with Stu and will continue to do so – thank you so much Stu so far for what you’ve helped me achieve, see you at the next session!
